Crunch gym opens in Scott’s Addition’s 3600 Centre

The 26,000-square-foot fitness facility, the largest thus far in the neighborhood, opened following receipt of city occupancy permits Thursday evening.

Crunch, the newest gym to pop up in Scott’s Addition, opened fairly unceremoniously Thursday evening. The new 26,000-square-foot facility located in the 3600 Centre at–you guessed it–3600 West Broad Street allowed patrons in after the City of Richmond signed off final occupancy permits, the gym posted on its Facebook page late in the evening.

While the neighborhood is home to a handful of smaller, niche fitness facilities such as CrossFit Full Circle, X-Team Fitness, and Turn Cardio Jam Studio, Crunch is the first large, full-service business targeting a broader clientele on par with that of Gold’s Gym, which has nearby locations in The Fan on Harvie Street and at Willow Lawn.

Membership pricing is fairly straightforward, starting at $10 a month for basic access to cardio equipment and weights. $20 per month allows access to group fitness classes; tanning and massages are included for $25 per month. All plans are subject to a $40 annual club fee, but all are free of long-term contracts.

Elsewhere in Richmond, Crunch has locations in the West End, on Ridgefield Parkway; Brook Road in Northside; and on Glenside Drive in the Near West End.
