Citywide hearing set to discuss bus route changes

Richmond City Council wants city residents to be aware of a final town meeting to discuss proposed changes to the GRTC bus route, which includes the proposed elimination of routes and service reduction. The meeting will be led by GRTC’s CEO, John Lewis. It was rescheduled from October 30, when City Hall was temporarily shut down.

The meeting will include findings of the 2008 Comprehensive Operational Analysis, an 18-month study of city bus routes based on fare box recovery and ridership. The entire Richmond community is invited and encouraged to attend this important meeting.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 18, from 6:00 until 7:30pm in City Council Chambers at 900 East Broad Street. Routes to be discussed include:

  • 11-Laurel/17th Street
  • 13-Main St./Church Hill
  • 16-Westhampton
  • Lunchtime Express (LTE)
  • 20-Northside
  • 22-Hermitage
  • 61-Broad Rock Shuttle
  • 67-Chippenham Express
  • 65-Stony Point Fashion Park /VCU/Wal-Mart Express
