From Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities:

Parents can register children between the ages of 4 and 15 to play soccer this fall with Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities at the Humphrey Calder Community Center, located at 414 N. Thompson Street.

Registration is currently taking place every weeknight through Sept. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Registration is $25 for City residents and $45 for non-City residents. Some scholarships are available. In addition, uniforms are $20. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required at registration, and children will be placed on teams on a first-come-first-served basis.

Teams practice on weeknights and all games are played on Saturday mornings, except the games for children younger than six-years-old, which are played on Friday nights. Volunteer coaches are also wanted. For more information, call the center at 646-1780.
