The Richmond Police Department has identified the two adults found deceased yesterday inside a home in the 39-hundred block of Rusk Avenue.

The bodies of Christine Mae Squire, 33, and Clarence Friend Taylor II, 38, both of the same address in the 39-hundred block of Rusk Avenue were discovered by members of the Department’s SWAT team after they entered the residence yesterday about 7 p.m.

Investigators worked into the night and returned again today to the residence to continue processing the scene, gathering evidence and speaking with neighbors.

Detectives are treating the case as a probable murder/suicide. Although it is early in their investigation, the evidence indicates Taylor shot Squire, then, after exchanging gunfire with officers who entered the residence to check on her welfare, turned the gun on himself.

The two officers who received non life-threatening gunshot wounds during the incident are expected to make full recoveries. Both officers were treated and have been released by VCU Medical Center.
