The Henrico Citizen recently spotlighted the linoleum block print work of artist Julia Hebner, whose six-piece homage to the Lakeside community is on display through March 8 at Richmond’s Visual Arts Center on Broad Street.

Hebner, a retiree who describes herself as a part-time artist, said her work was motivated by a simple love of her neighborhood.

“I just really like it,” she said matter-of-factly.

The best part of the community? “My neighbors,” she said. “They’re so helpful and kind.”
