During last night’s mayoral debate at the University of Richmond, candidate Robert Grey reportedly called on the city to pay attention to the details in the redevelopment efforts at Dove Court and Gilpin Court:
[Robert] Grey said the city should redevelop the Dove Court and Carrington Gardens communities with careful attention to detail, in part to make sure that no mistakes are made when the much-larger Gilpin Court public-housing complex is razed and redeveloped.
He said the key is to ensure that public-housing doesn’t look like “a box on a street,” but instead has the feel of a neighborhood, with lights, trees and grass.
