In March, we reported that six proposals have been submitted to the City of Richmond for the revitalization of 60 acres of city-owned land between North Boulevard and Hermitage Road. The city’s website reports that a presentation on the proposals is expected to be made this month:

The City of Richmond is seeking a development partner for the revitalization of the 60-plus acre parcel stretching along the North Boulevard area at The Diamond ballpark and Interstate 95. This redevelopment process was initially undertaken with the goal of providing a new ballpark for the Richmond Braves, but unknown to City officials, the Braves made plans to relocate to Georgia as part of a business decision.

City officials are working in conjunction with a leading global real estate advisory firm, The Staubach Company, on the development of this prime central Richmond location. Six companies recently submitted ideas for redeveloping the North Boulevard Area and Diamond.

The next step is for The Staubach Company to review the documents and make a presentation to the City administration. This presentation will most likely occur in April.
