Better Block project hosts walk and talk

Plans have been solidified for a two-day transformation in North Church Hill.

Last week, we posted a story about Project Better Block coming to Richmond’s Church Hill neighborhood.

On March 12, Better Block Richmond hosted a Walk & Talk event, kicking off the project and informing interested residents about their plans to temporarily transform two blocks of North 25th Street.

From Richmond Better Block’s recent blog on the Walk and Talk event:

The Church Hill North Better Block has officially kicked off with a successful community walk that took place at the project site (25th Street and Venable Street) on March 11th. A group of nearly 100 residents, stakeholders, and activists showed up to begin laying out the groundwork for the area’s first Better Block.

The current plan for the project includes a tour of vacant properties at 25th and Venable streets on April 15 at 6:00 PM and a workshop on pre-building pop-up shops in June 11 and 12, with the actual Better Block taking place on June 13 and 14.

If you’re interested in applying for a pop-up shop, applications are due by April 29. You can apply here.

You can read the entire entry detailing the event and learn more about the project here.
