On Monday, April 15, Richmonders will have the opportunity to support a great cause – simply by enjoying an amazing meal at Food for a Cure, benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
That evening, chefs, bartenders and food producers from across the Richmond region will donate their time, talent and products in support of the Virginia Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Man & Woman of the Year fundraising campaign. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to LLS, which raised $19.5 million for research in 2012 alone.

Reservations are available from 5:30 – 8:30, during which chefs Joe Sparatta (Heritage); Tim Bereika (Secco); Dale Reitzer (Acacia); Lee Gregory (The Roosevelt); Owen Lane (Magpie); Randy Doetzer (Mint and Julep’s) and bartenders Mattias Hagglund (Heritage) and T. Leggett (The Roosevelt) will create a seasonal menu with ingredients donated by local producers, including Border Springs Farm, Autumn Olive Farm, Manakintowne Specialty Growers, Billy Bread, Dave and Dees Home Grown Mushrooms, Sam Rust Seafood and Cabbage Hill Farms.
The event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, with 100% of the $75 dinner price and 70% of all alcohol sold at the event going directly to support the programs offered by LLS, the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to blood cancer.
Your support could not go to a more worthy cause. One person is diagnosed with blood cancer every ten minutes, and LLS provides crucial support services, programs and research to patients and their families. In Virginia alone, more than 1,200 lives were lost to blood cancer in 2012, and leukemia causes more deaths among children and young adults than any other cancer. Help us help LLS!
