Bacon Festival is back, no official word on back bacon

I’m actually quite sure there will be some back bacon in one form or another so don’t worry.

The saying is “Everything is better with bacon,” and while vegans, vegetarians, and pigs would take issue with that statement there is no denying that RVA enjoys their bacon. The Richmond Bacon Festival has seen record crowds and shows no signs of diminishing.

This year it’s the 4th Annual Richmond Bacon Festival hosted by the Enrichmond Foundation, in partnership with Devils Backbone Brewing Company,

This year we are turning up the bacon! Forty of RVA’s best restaurants and food trucks are bringing their favorite bacon-centric dishes to this all day bacon party! Sample everything from bacon-infused fried oysters, bacon mac- n-cheese, bacon brisket, bacon sliders, and bacon empanadas to bacon pecan cobbler and strawberry short cake topped with bacon. Sample plates are just $4 each, so you can sample all your favorite restaurants, and try some new ones too.

There will be plenty of bacon and bacon-themed food. You’ll of course need something to wash that down with, and Devils Backbone Brewing Company has stepped up to the bar. Most interestingly you’ll have first tastes of Hot Shot IPA and Tropical Thunder—from their Family Beer Project.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Enrichmond Foundation. The Enrichmond foundation is an umbrella non-profit organization that serves over 100 parks and recreation partner groups in the City of Richmond. Enrichmond’s mission is to serve the people, parks, and public spaces in the City of Richmond. Enrichmond Partners are given the opportunity to apply for grants and solicit tax-deductible contributions.
