Offering and the RFMAA invites you to participate in Arts In The Alley
in Shockoe Bottom August 24, 2008. We are asking talented Richmond artists like yourself to display your work in Walnut Alley during the Sunday event designed to reclaim Richmond’s alley ways from neglect and upgrade there condition. This is a perfect opportunity to both show and sell your work to visitors of the event and the 17th Street Farmers Market. Displaying in the alley is free, however, as this is a non profit event, we gently encourage you make a donation once you sell a piece of your work.

Arts In The Alley is a group of Richmond Artists formed to make a practical contribution to the local urban community. Our mission is to provide a platform for community involvement hosted by resident Richmond artists, incorporating both a physical clean-up day and an arts festival. Over the mentioned weekend, we will weed, clean and paint six murals on the walls of Walnut Alley while hosting a community celebration showcasing the local artists.

If you’d like to participate, we need a few things from you:
1. A 100-word biography
2. A digital headshot/picture
3. A description of the pieces you would like to show
4. Contact information
5. Any special considerations to secure of hang your pieces

This will be a community event open to the public and we will encourage people to bring their children, so while themes may reflect more maturity, we’d ask you not submit anything inappropriate for general audiences as this is a family friendly event. Please prepare three or more pieces to display, though there is a possibility we’ll only have room to show two. In addition, while it is not a
requirement, if you have any pieces that focus on life in Richmond, we would be thrilled to have them as a part of the show.

We hope you consider joining us in this great event.

Kindest regards,

Scott Sibley
