In addition to being open for nominations for excellence in local preservation and renovation, the ACORN (Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods) awards event will be held in Richmond’s historic Northside community.

If you know of an outstanding renovation in the city of Richmond — one that has been or will be completed between the dates of August 17, 2007, and August 15, 2008 — tell us about it! Remember, you may nominate your own project(s). The categories are:

  • BEST RESIDENTIAL RENOVATION (single family dwelling)
  • BEST COMMERCIAL RENOVATION (this would include multi-family buildings such as apartments or condominiums)
  • BEST NEW INFILL CONSTRUCTION (on a parcel where a building was demolished at some previous time)
  • All nominations will be reviewed by an impartial panel of judges with professional ties to the preservation community. Winners will be honored at the Awards Ceremony that will take place at Seven Hills School, 1311 Overbrook Road on October 7, 2008, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
