Historic Lakeside Avenue will host the return of “A Holly Jolly Christmas on Lakeside Avenue” on Friday, November 14, and on Saturday, November 15. There will be 22 retailers celebrating the season with the avenue’s second annual Christmas Open House along the mile-and-a-half commercial stretch.

Northside residents are invited to stroll Lakeside — or hop a ride on the complimentary “Holly Jolly Trolleys” that will run up and down the avenue, dropping shoppers off at participating merchants. In addition to shopping, there will be refreshments and live entertainment; last year, more than 8,000 people attended this two-day event.

Retailers started planning for this year’s event back in the summer and are so excited about the Open House. “It’s a great community event that draws visitors from all across the region,” reported Tony Turner from Feathernesters who is co-chair of the event along with Hunter Lange’s Chris Carter.

“We have more shops than ever this year,” added Carter. “And we have added a second trolley this year to help better transport the crowds.”

Event flyers are available in any of the shops and include a detailed map with participating shops, event parking areas, and trolley stops.

The Christmas Open House event takes place from 5 – 9 pm on Friday, and again on Saturday, November 15 during regular store hours. For more detailed information visit www.feathernesters.com.
