Forest Hill Park sees lots of activity on Sunday June 20th. From noon-4PM is the return of Sunday in the Park, followed immediately by the summer monthly Music in the Park Series, which runs until 6PM. All the details are below the fold.
Sunday in the Park is a free family-centered event designed to bring people together from across South Richmond for one great family picnic in the park. It’s down home, old-fashioned fun, with clowns from Clown Alley; live music by Tammi Kamen, Tinker’s Dam, and Corie Kelly and Friends; free food and drink; nature walks; history tours; eco-friendly exhibits; outdoor games; face-painting; a misting tent to keep tots cool; and so much more.
Sunday in the Park is co-sponsored by Friends of Forest Hill Park and 4th District Councilwoman Kathy Graziano with support from Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, Verizon, Comcast, Dominion Virginia Power, Wal-Mart, Ukrop’s, Virginia Delegate Frank Hall, the Forest Hill Neighborhood Association, Westover Hills Neighborhood Association, Woodland Heights Civic Association, and Westover Merchants Association.
Sunday in the Park will be immediately followed by Music in the Park, featuring a bluegrass concert by the Sugar Hollow Ramblers from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Music in the Park is presented monthly from May to October by the Forest Hill, Westover Hills, and Woodland Heights neighborhood associations and the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities.
