56th annual Armenian Food Festival kicks off today
Festival runs Thursday through Sunday at St. James Armenian Church on Pepper Avenue.
If you thought you got a whiff of delicious-smelling kebobs and cheese pies this morning in the Near West End, you’re not crazy. The 56th annual Armenian Food Festival is back this weekend at St. James Armenian Church at 834 Pepper Avenue.
Among the traditional Armenian offerings are cheese and spinach beoregs (pies made with philo dough), chicken and pork kebobs, hye burgers (ground lamb and sirloin with Armenian spices), and a large selection of pastries and bakery items.
Expect to find lots of live music and traditional Armenian dancing on the festival stage throughout the weekend as well.
The Armenian Food Festival runs today through Sunday evening. A limited amount of parking is available on-site as well as in the surrounding neighborhood.
