5 Things for Teens: Shopping, technology, music, Japanese culture, and chilling

Because we’re going back to school pretty soon. Don’t think about it.

1. Bizarre Bazaar Spring Show

Bizarre Markets are…bizarre. But isn’t that why they’re so great? Just like humans, Bizarre Markets are so diverse and unique…and sometimes awkward but that’s okay. Because we love them, despite the awkwardness.

2. 3D Printing: The Art of Seating

3D Printing has become a mind-boggling pastime that I still haven’t fully understood. However I do understand that it is really freaking cool to know that technology has evolved this far that we can essentially create anything from a computer program. But don’t just take my word for it. Go check it out for yourself.

3. Anna Webber’s Simple Trio Scott Clark Sound Quartet

Don’t let the title confuse you! Anna Webber and her crew produce a sound like no other! This is honestly one of those things that you could go to with your grandparents and all of you could have a pretty great time! I often find myself amazed with the level of creative talent that humans can produce, especially on the music frontier.

4. Second Annual Cherry Blossom Festival

One of the perks of living in a university city is the amount of culture that the students bring with them. Fortunately VCU has no limit of opportunities to learn from and experience different cultures. And ya know what most cultures usually create? Good food. I mean, who doesn’t love food. I can’t promise food but I can promise that you’ll learn something that you didn’t know before. And hey, they say experience is the best teacher, so why not learn all that you can learn?

  • VCU, 907 Floyd Avenue
  • Free!

5. Relaxing

Let’s be honest, we were looking forward to spring break from the first day of school. To say the least, it will be sorrowful to wake up to the morning alarm yelling at us. And seeing teachers and that one awkward kid that you really don’t want to see in your classes, but somehow you guys have every class together. Anyway, take this weekend to relax, maybe drink some tea or coffee or rest or maybe binge-watch some random show on Netflix or Hulu. But whatever you do, just relax.
