5 Things For Teens: Many festivals, celebrations, and A LOT of comedy

Good luck trying to decide what to do.

1. Art 180 presents: The Really Big Show

ART 180! ART 180! ART 180! So if you guys couldn’t tell, I love ART 180. And you will too after you check out the Really Big Show, which is, as you might have guessed, super big.

  • Friday, May 20th • 5:00 – 7:30 PM
  • Art 180’s ATLAS Art gallery, 114 W. Marshall Street
  • Free!

2. Celebrate Jackson Ward: Past, Present, and Future

The history of Jackson Ward is a difficult and devastating subject that many residents who live there have no awareness of.

The past is never where you think you left itKatherine Anne Porter

I find this quote to be challenging and very realistic for our city–especially when learning to grapple with our history as we hope to better our collective future.

  • Friday, May 20th • 5:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Abner Clay Park, 200 W. Clay Street
  • Free!

3. Goochland Pet Expo

Pets are really cute. I unfortunately don’t have any pets, but I want both a cat and a dog. This event is a bit of a drive but it’s totally worth it to see some really cute animals.

  • Midpoint Industrial Park, 112 Midpoint Drive
  • Free!

4. Sunday Stroll at Dorey Park

Sunday strolls are the highlight of my weekends, most weekends. It’s just a good debriefing before the week starts. Because we all know Mondays are the worst. This one will relax you AND show you interesting things about the natural setting of the park right while the seasons are changing. Or trying to, anyway.

  • Sunday, May 22nd • 2:00 – 4:00 PM
  • Dorey Park, 600 E. Grace Street
  • Free!
