The official swearing-in ceremony for the nine newly elected members of Richmond City Council will take place this Friday, January 2, at 10:00 a.m. The 2nd District’s Charles Samuels is the only new member of City Council this term; 3rd District representative Christopher Hilbert will be sworn in for another term in office, as well. The ceremony in Richmond City Council Chambers at Richmond City Hall (900 East Broad Street), which is open to the public, will be followed by the election of a new Council President and Vice President; the 2nd District’s outgoing representative, Bill Pantele, previously served as Council President. A reception will follow.
