VMFA hosting artist-led photography exhibition tour Wednesday afternoon

Photographer Thomas Schiff and VMFA Director Alex Nyerges will lead the tour of the museum’s Virginia 360 exhibition.

Photographer Thomas Schiff and VMFA Director Alex Nyerges will host an artist-led exhibition tour at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts this week. “Thomas Schiff: Virginia 360 Media Event” takes place on Wednesday, February 10th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the museum’s Evans Court Gallery at 200 North Boulevard. Attendees will have access to Virginia 360, an exhibition of 40 panoramic photographs of well-known sites across Virginia.

Schiff studied photography under Clarence White, Jr. and Arnold Gassan while earning a BBA degree from Ohio University in 1970. A photographer since childhood, he has continued working in various photographic formats for the past 40 years. His early photography featured black and white images focused on architectural detail, storefront facades and windows.  Schiff began working in color panoramic photography in 1994 making use of a Hulcherama 360 panoramic camera.
