Swan Lake: Graceful, beautiful, and brutal

Richmond Ballet brings out the big guns this year with Swan Lake, backed by Tchaikowsky’s sweeping score performed by the Richmond Symphony.

Richmond Ballet brings out the big guns this year with Swan Lake, backed by Tchaikovsky’s sweeping score performed by the Richmond Symphony. Shira Lanyi and Thomas Garrett, who danced the principal roles in 2011’s production of Giselle, are back again as Odette and Siegfried, alternating nights with dancers on loan from the Queensland Ballet. Sets and costumes come directly from the San Francisco Ballet, for a fresh combination of lush textures and moods ready to amaze Richmond audiences. Four performances over the course of the weekend will give you ample opportunities to screw up your courage and face the black swan. You can do it. We believe in you.
