Thanks to everyone who submitted nominations for the RVANews Internet Awards. Now it’s time to make it happen. Check out the nominees, cast your votes, and tell your friends to do the same.

Voting will be open until 10pm on Wednesday, February 9.

Note: We got a few nominees (particularly in the “best blog” category) that just started posting in 2011. As these are the 2010 awards, those nominees don’t qualify for this go-around. Keep them in mind for next year!

Nothing worth voting for here. Good day, sir.

Can I write in the following:

    Tobacco Avenue for best blog
    Boulevardizen for best community news
Arby’s for best use of SM by a company

Also, why are the twitterers separated by gender? It’s not like Twitter is a sport.

  3. Was the 13th bubble down in the right column for the blog question for Late Enough? Hope so.

  4. Yes! Sorry about that, had some dangling markup. We’ve buttoned it down.

  5. The fact that Amanda Meadows (@gridlockgoddess) is not on this list is a travesty. She’ll tweet about an accident 5 minutes after it happens, and reports on every problem out on the roads.

  6. Why can’t everyone get along? I think these are great.

yay! you had your chance for noms folks…now it’s time for votin’.

that period looks awkward. is that the right place for it?

For best business website, Pearl’s Cupcake Shoppe is misspelled. Thanks for the nomination, though!

  9. How come people who have only been tweeting for a couple of months and have under 200 followers are nominated? that doesn’t make any sense.

When it comes time for the 2011 awards, I think this thread rivals Leash Your Dog http://chpn.net/news/2011/01/26/like-pizza_16740/

Already more than 100 comments long!

  11. Best of luck to everyone! :)

If she tweeted about accidents 5 minutes before they happened, she’d be worth a vote or two…

  16. Love Veron’s blog, photos and all the recipes that she puts together.

  17. love the blog choices. Yes there could have been a list of 100’s of bloggers in Richmond. Do you see SUBMIT A NOMINATION. Next year maybe you all shouldn’t sleep on your friends who you think have the best blog. Here I have an idea. Use that new calender of yours and tell yourself next year around January I’m going to check on RVANEWS to recommend my friends blog that I think is very useful to Richmond. If you are upset that your friends blog isn’t on here then be upset with yourself for not nominating them.

  18. What a gyp–once again The Shockoe Literary Messenger has been passed over for the “Second Best Local Humor Blog” award.

  19. Totally never heard of this site till my friend put me hip several seconds ago. Viewing your list I at first was simply reaffirmed of my RVA noobness, as I blanked on exactly WTF most of those things were. Then I got down to best buisness websites and noticed rumors-a travest of a site that luanched, what, 6 weeks ago? and not need supply. Need supply’s website isn’t a cornerstore of premium denim stateside, but is well known throughout europe as one of the few places that will ship worldwide. Its also one of a very few places that carry up and coming Raleigh Denim. So, shame on me, for not knowing about this wonderfull website, and some of the other diamonds hidden in this rough, but shame on you for not including Needsupply.com OR oregonhill.net , both of which ATLEAST deserve mention. How are nominees compiled for these categories? Looks like you missed a few.

  22. Some of these nominees for Twitter are a little sad. There are plenty of other good Richmonders with more exciting and funny tweets. Good luck.

  23. WHAT A BUNCH OF BABIES. Let me send you people a box of tissues to wipe your tears away. boo hoo my shitty blog didn’t make the list, booo hooo

  24. Totally agree that Arby’s should be on here for best SM use by a business.
