The time has come, dear friends, to bestow laurels upon a select few Richmond Internet superstars. Today marks the start of the first phase of the 2010 RVA Internet Awards… The Nominations. Or “The Nomz” as we call them around here. Because we do.
Right now you might be saying, “But wait, guys. Isn’t it 2011? Why are these the 2010 Awards?” And to that we say “Don’t be confused, Little Bear. It is 2011 — you are not mistaken. But these awards are for feats of Internet wonderment that took place in 2010.”
So! You have between now and 10pm on Monday, January 24 to leave comments announcing your nominations for the following categories:
- Best blog
- Best community news site
- Best comment thread
- Best business wesbite
- Best use of social media by a business
- Best male Twitterer
- Best female Twitterer
Once we get all of the nominations sorted out, we’ll open up voting on Tuesday, February 1st with the winners announced shortly thereafter.
Speaking of those winners, they do get prizes beyond Internet glory and honor: an RVANews T-shirt and a handy-dandy button/badge/thing to do with what they like.
Now on with it! That’s right, put your nomz in the comz, folks!
