Plan 9 Music to celebrate 9th annual Record Store Day with live music, DJs, prizes

Enjoy live music and DJs, win prizes, and score some limited edition records.

Plan 9 Music, along with record stores across the country, will take part in the ninth annual Record Store Day this Saturday, April 16th with a full lineup of live music, DJs, and limited edition vinyls.

The celebration of the culture of the independent record store goes on all day, starting with over 300 limited-edition record releases, followed by live music in the afternoon. Some of the artists with releases on Record Store Day include David Bowie, Metallica, Outkast, Johnny Cash, Madonna, Deftones, Fleetwood Mac, Lil Wayne, Tom Petty, and The Weekend. Shoppers can also register to win one of two Audio Technica turntables, headphones, and other prizes.

The day’s full schedule is as follows:

  • 10:00 AM: Doors open, limited edition vinyl goes on sale
  • 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: WRIR 97.3 FM DJ Mike Rutz spins vinyl for the shoppers
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: DJ Chris Jones
  • 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Obliv
  • 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Lady God
  • 5:30 PM: Zgomot debut featuring Pippin Barnett, Tim Harding, Vlad Cuiujuclu, and Gary Kalar

Plan 9 Music is located at 3017 West Cary Street in Carytown.
