Two Richmond-area schools up for $20k grant

O.B. Gates Elementary School in Chesterfield County and Colonial Trail Elementary School in Glen Allen are in the top 20 on a list of contenders for a $20,000 grant from Care 2 Make a Difference.

O.B. Gates Elementary School in Chesterfield County and Colonial Trail Elementary School in Glen Allen are in the top 20 on a list of contenders for a $20,000 grant in Care 2 Make a Difference’s contest for America’s Favorite School.

The premise of the contest is simple: whichever school gets the most votes wins. In addition to the Grand Prize, Care 2 Make a Difference will give $5,000 to the second place winner, $3,000 to third, $2,000 to the fourth, and $1,000 to the fourth.

While O.B Gates and Colonial Trail are currently towards the top of the list, you can vote for any school in your area. Just stop by the site, search by ZIP code or city to locate your favorite school, share a little bit of info, cast your vote, and Bob’s your uncle, you made a difference.

Thanks to Christina Couch (the writer of our first at least fourth story EVER) for the tip, all the way from Australia!
