Addison Handmade and Vintage opened this morning at 103 South Addison Street across from Lamplighter. The new shop offers curated vintage fashion for men and women.
The shop is a new home for collection of seven entrepreneurs (Mat Shelton-Eide, Harrison Reed, Ashley Carruthers, Lauren O’Connor, Kate Jennings, Ani Darakjian, and Cody) and their existing brands (The Wild Heart, McCue Vintage, Na Nin Vintage, Ani Maria) working together to make the space happen. The shop also stocks Blue Begonia jewelry out of San Diego and Square Trade candles from Richmond, and will be featuring other local designers and artisans.
Lauren give first credit to Mat for getting this started, “He saw the for rent sign and called me, knowing my longtime dream of opening a store.” Calling upon her talented friends to complete the picture was a natural next step.
The small space is well stocked with moderately-priced clothing and shoes for men and women, and other interesting and/or useful items (antlers, a backpack, belts).
There will be a block party at the shops this Sunday (September 1) to celebrate the grand opening of Addison Handmade and Vintage and the adjacent Yesterday’s Heroes Vintage.
