New art project aims to honor cancer survivors, break world record

“Impressions of Courage” will be the largest project to date for Art On Wheels.

Art on Wheels launched its biggest community art project to date with a kickoff event Thursday morning at Studio Two Three in Scott’s Addition.

The non-profit is setting out to create a monumental 1,000-foot collagraph print, and hopes to set a Guinness Book world record in the process.

The print will honor people in Richmond who have been affected by cancer and is being presented by the VCU Massey Cancer Center, executed in conjunction with Studio Two Three, and benefits LINC (the Legal Information Network for Cancer).

Entitled Impressions of Courage, the project will culminate in a day-long community festival on September 10th in Scott’s Addition where the massive art project will be created.
