The video for “I Got It!” may look like a lot of rap videos that you see on MTV, but even the casual viewer can’t help but notice the innumerable fitted caps on which Virginia’s postal abbreviation and geographic border gyrates up and down to the rhythmic motions of its wearer. You can’t help but hear the numerous and repetitive references to Virginia’s telephone area codes. And you can’t help but notice that Noah-O himself wears a Richmond Flying Squirrels hat.

Richmond-based Charged Up Enterprises’ first produced video, done without the help of big label (or any label) support, recently appeared on MTV. Although born in San Francisco, CA, Noah-O moved to Virginia early in his life. He began rhyming at the age of fourteen, and recording at seventeen. He helped co-found Charged Up Enterprises that, among other things, created VyAy (Virginia You are Yearning), which aims to curb youth violence, drug use, and gang activity through the use of performing arts.

“I Got It!” is the first single from the forthcoming album Struggle Music. Charged Up Enterprises will present their on-going concert series “The Rebirth” at the Camel tonight at 9pm. You might see Noah-O there.
