Brian Jones was featured in the Examiner for his upcoming appearance at Chicago’s Mingus Awareness Project. He’s currently finalizing plans for the next Richmond installment this fall.

Bossa Brava just secured and announced their weekly gig at Dora’s Brazilian Grill downtown. Check them out any Saturday night, like this one, through August.

After posting the article yesterday about the David Karsten Daniels/Fight the Big Bull album to be released next week, this new video for “Smoke” popped up. Here’s hoping the next one is for the imagery-filled and minimalistic “Salmon Brook.”

No BS! Brass has announced a secret show on Sunday for their age 21+ fans. Monitor their Twitter and Facebook for an update.

My pick for this weekend: well, that No BS! show, wherever it may be. But also, Sam Savage’s heralded return to Richmond and Bogart’s. He’s playing with John D’earth, Rick Rieger, Alan Parker, Devonne Harris, and Andrew Randazzo.
