The Media Day and VIP celebration at Kings Dominion began with an opening Ceremony, with an enthusiastic welcome from Virginia’s Lt. Governor, Bill Bolling.
Also, making a special appearance was the entire crew from Food Network’s hit show, Ace of Cakes. There was a stunning two-foot cake equipped with a working roller coaster at the center of the attraction.
The Intimidator 305 soars at speeds of up to 96 mph, making it hard to keep a pretty face for the roller coaster camera.
After the first few excruciating moments of riding to the top of the initial 300-foot drop, you are thrust around turns and drops that leave you breathless and pretty much blinded by the intense speeds.
“This is the most intense ride I have ever ridden.” Said Wayne Fuqua, Kings Dominion’s roller coaster maintenance supervisor.
I have to agree. And with two carts, able to hold 32 people each, the lines should never be too long of a wait. This one is definitely worth checking out this season — which happens to start today!
