Four terribly useless graphs about the LEGO KidsFest

LEGO are a big deal in my house, so the LEGO KidsFest is an even bigger deal. To celebrate: four mostly useless graphs!

As a former and current LEGO aficionado, and someone who can see four different surfaces covered in LEGO from where I sit, this is kind of a big deal in our household. To celebrate, I put together these four mostly useless graphs (another big deal in our household).

  1. Wow, you have a lot of time on your hands! Here are my tips from having visited the last time. You think that 4 hours is a short time; it’s not. After a while, you are so tired you just want to go. Get there 30 minutes later than the start time. You won’t have to wait in line, and you won’t be trampled by the crowd.

Take pictures of the life-sized statues when you get ready to leave. You’ll want to take them in the beginning, but there will be so many people around you won’t get any good shots and you’ll just be wasting time.

Try and go hands-free with nothing to bother with except kids. Having said that, a backpack with some water bottles and easy access snacks is a good idea if you can sneak it in. You’ll need a break.

The longest line is at the Lego Store. Rather, promise a family trip to the Lego store at Potomac Mills. It will take you less time to drive there, make your purchase and drive back than to stand in the line at the KidsFest when you could be enjoying the relative calm around the Lego statues near the end of the event.
