Dozens of local and national bands will play Richmond during the inaugural FALL LINE FEST, a showcase of music, art, and food that will take place across multiple venues, galleries, and restaurants the first weekend in September. From the press release:

Born out of a shared love of their city, the organizers of FALL LINE FEST first and foremost set out to showcase many of the aspects that make Richmond so great. With a focus on music, art, and food, the event will balance national / regional talent alongside the best and brightest hometown favorites, all presented within a walkable portion of the downtown area.

Big Freedia will headline the event, along with a Neon Indian DJ set, and Cold Cave. Local acts like No BS! Brass Band, Ms Proper, Black Liquid, and Alison Self will also perform. All told, over 40 bands will play the two-day event at The Hippodrome, Gallery5, The Camel, and Strange Matter.

Taking place in September on the same weekend as the First Fridays Art Walk, FALL LINE FEST will bring thousands to galleries like Quirk, ADA, 1708, Candela, and more, each of which will take part in the festival in various ways. In addition, local restaurants like Pasture, Saison, Ipanema, Rappahannock, will have specials, discounts, and events for ticket holders throughout the weekend. Local breweries and food trucks will also be present.

A weekend pass for the festival is $20. A VIP pass is available for $55, and includes the ability to skip the line at all music performances, happy hour deals, coupons, and bonus swag. Tickets can be purchased online, starting today. Further details to come.

FALL LINE FEST takes place Friday, September 6th – Saturday, September 7th.
