Comicon at RIR to feature Counselor Deanna Troi, Zach The Black Ranger, Back to the Future creator and more

Comicon is a whole lot more than a place to get a comic book.

Get ready for two day of comic books, graphic novel, cos-play, and artists of all sort as VA Comicon lands at RIR on Saturday and Sunday and a Friday  VIP kick-off event at the Byrd Theatre.

The Friday event features a screening of Back to the Future Part 1, 2 and 3 with an appearance by the creator Bob Gale. You can purchase your tickets for the Byrd event and for the regular Comicon online.  The $22 Friday event includes a FREE Back to the Future #1 comic book (ltd 500) written by Bob Gale. Tickets for the regular Comicon are $22 for those of us over 13 and $11 for those up to 12.

The Virginia Comicon’s official hours are 11 AM to 5 PM on Saturday for General Admission ticket holders. (Early birds get in at 10 AM which will cost you $32). Sunday hours are 10 AM to 5 PM.

I’ll be taking my 12 year old aspiring artist to meet kick butt grown-up artist Brooke Allen (seen above) who co-created and illustrates Lumberjanes and here is why you should read it.
