  1. I think it has something to do with graduating from Regent-for lack of a better word- University….

  2. So, uh, what does this mean?

Is McDonnell cold hearted because he’s slashing the budget and potentially shrinking government?

Or should he be cold hearted and put the burden of big government on the backs of Virginia’s working families?

Or maybe you mean something else entirely and it makes no sense.

  3. I don’t really get it either. I thought maybe I was just dumb.

Well, just to put your mind at ease, you just aren’t dumb, you are paralyzingly stupid if you don’t get the joke…

  5. I guess I’m just more on Jason’s side of things. It’s more about not getting the point of view or idea behind the joke than getting the meaning of the joke itself. PS, you don’t have to be a dick about it.

Agreed, Wolf. Not everyone is as “smart” as bopst. Maybe he should podcast how stupid the rest of us are.

bopst thinks the govt. is his savior, lol if thats not the definition of stupid

  13. Perhaps the cartoon is refering to a recent headline in the RTD that states Mcdonnell will cut education, health care, and retirement. Most likely, these cuts will directly affect the working classes in a horrible way -the wealthy have segregated from us a long time ago and can buy/afford good education and health care and have plenty of savings, funds, trusts, stocks, etc on which to retire.

    thank you

  15. It’s budget cuts or increased taxes, which is still money out of our pockets. Kaine wanted cuts AND increased taxes. Pick your poison, but it has nothing to do with cold-heartedness. People love to complain, but what’s your bright idea?

  16. Nice try, but it’s not money (or resources) out of the SAME pockets.

@Gray- i just dont understand why people think the govt. is the solution to the problems you reference. In my opinion the govt. always makes any problem they attempt to solve worse. I think the way people improve their standard of living is thru initiative and free enterprise capitalism, not by the govt. taking more from them(taxes and fees) to make them wealthier.

  18. Yeah, look at the interstate highway system, the air traffic control system, Social Security, clean water initiatives, the nuclear regulatory agencies, the government-led effort to prevent additional terror attacks after 2001, global trade, the Internet and those really cool historic signs on Virginia’s byways. Also, the GOVERNMENT-LED enterprise known as the United States of America sure has been a living nightmare for 220+ years. The government sure does RUIN everything it touches.

I love people who make blanket statements rooted in ideology. Because everything really is black-and-white, cut-and-dried and easily solved.

    thank you…

  20. Liberty on said:

lol social security, bankrupt, lol yeah three would be no global trade without the govt., lol Al Gore created the internet lol..

sure love people who credit the govt. for bankrupt social programs and accomplisments they had nothing to do with and credit for things a private company could do more efficintly, low IQs and liberals are a perfect match.

  21. Ooh, speed-reader.
