85th Academy Awards: RVA snubbed

The 85th Academy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, and two films with RVA ties vied for Oscar statuettes.

Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (nominated for 12 Oscars) surprised some by winning only Best Actor (Daniel Day-Lewis) and Best Production Design.

And Beasts of the Southern Wild, co-produced by Richmond-native Michael Gottwald, was snubbed all together, leaving the ceremony empty-handed.
