Summer fashion to beat the heat

Ladies and penguins, it’s officially summer in Virginia which means the heat wave has come to town and smacked us in the face. I know, all you want to do is drink limeades on the deck at Phil’s one last time before it closes, but you are afraid of melting outside. This is by no means an excuse to let yourself go this summer.

VCU annual Juried Fashion Show

Each year the VCU Department of Fashion Design and Merchandising holds a highly anticipated sold out event that features the top 100 garments of upperclassmen student designs, chosen by a panel of esteemed fashion industry critics.

Mother’s Day gift guide, round two!

Seeing red (and pink!)

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is upon us and has everyone seeing the color red this February. Whether you are headed to the office, out to the bars with friends, or on a romantic date with your true love, it’s always important to look your best. So, RVA, here are some red and pink looks to keep you in style this February 14th!

Key to the Cure: Passion for fashion raises awareness

A local cancer survivor takes part in VCU Massey Cancer Center’s joint effort with Saks Fifth Avenue to turn Richmond’s passion for fashion into an evening devoted to raising money and awareness for cancer research.

Patriotic chic

With Fourth of July right around the corner, you might be stressing over what to wear to all those BBQs, pool parties, and family gatherings. Remember, you can show some American spirit and still look sophisticated. To make it easier on you, we scoured RVA’s local malls and boutiques to find some great Independence Day looks.

VCU student helps fight cancer in style

Two years ago, Brittany Burke, a Fashion Merchandising student at VCU, received news that her little brother, Brandon, was fighting a rare form of cancer. After her brother’s ordeal, Brittany decided to use her fashion knowledge to help in the fight against cancer.

The wearin’ o’ the green

St. Patrick’s Day falls right smack in the middle of the work week this year, so you need to make sure your green garb is work-appropriate. Take a look at some snazzy finds available for purchase in town (and sure to keep those annoying pinchers at bay).
