Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more variations on the frozen yogurt shop, here come two more. Dustin Smith, Amanda Leininger and her mother plan to open Mix It, a self-serve frozen yogurt and cereal bar, in West Broad Village in March.

Five-Alarm Delivery: Historic Firetruck Arrives as Centerpiece of New Restaurant

The centerpiece for the second Halligan Bar & Grill was put in place today, before the new restaurant opens next month in West Broad Village. The 1967 Oren fire truck, which will have a full bar around it, was donated by Old Dominion Historical Fire Society and is the same truck that owner Shawn Gregory’s father rode on as a rookie firefighter for Henrico County. The owner of a Short Pump mattress and bedding shop isn’t stopping at two stores. Gian Fazio just opened a second Layers Bed Company location Charlottesville and has his sights set on 58 more. The company manufactures mattresses in Danville, Virginia, and Fazio said the products would soon be available in a major department store.

Couple Bringing New Vietnamese Restaurant to Innsbrook Later This Month

A Glen Allen couple recently left their day jobs to try to their luck in the restaurant business. Dangminh Katsiff and Jack Peters are getting ready to open Pho Sai Gon, a Vietnamese restaurant near Innsbrook, next month. Katsiff and Peters leased 1,900 square feet in the Lexington Commons shopping center on West Broad Street in May, but Katsiff has been cooking up the idea for her own spot for years.
