Pens (and pencils) of Hope

Our very own Patience (also of kindnessgirl.com and PBS Supersisters) is helping a far-away friend with a very simple (but very important) project.

Her friend Nortehanon lives in the Phillipines and is collecting pens and pencils so the children in her town have something to write with when they go to school.

Pens! That’s it! All she’s asking for is pens!

(Ok, and pencils for the little ones because, well, a 5-year-old and an ink pen is a dangerous combination.)

If you’re interested in helping out with this, you can ship them directly to Nortehanon at:

PENS OF HOPE
P.O. Box 16
Post Office, Bgy. Dalakit,
Catarman Northern Samar
6400

It’s estimated that it costs about $10 per pound to ship. Patience is also collecting pens and pencils for locals to make one big shipment full of RVA love. If you’d rather go that route, email her or us to get more info about where to take them.

You can read more about it here and here.

The goals is to collect 5,000 pens and pencils by May 15th, and they’re about halfway there. RVA, I think we can handle that, don’t you?
