We want you to know about things like this, so here's some incentive to show up:</p><blockquote><p>The Brooklyn, NY-based indie jazz pianist <strong>Marco Benevento</strong> takes his critically acclaimed trio featuring bassist <strong>Dave Dreiwitz</strong> (Ween) and drummer <strong>Andrew Barr </strong>(Land Of Talk, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, The Slip) to <span style="font-weight: bold;">Richmond, VA</span> for the first time on <span style="font-weight: bold;">Thursday, February 11</span> for a headline performance at the <strong>Capital Ale House Music Hall</strong>.</p><p>2009 was a breakout year for Marco Benevento. In February, he released <strong><em>Me Not Me</em></strong>, an album featuring interpretations of songs by <strong>My Morning Jacket, Leonard Cohen </strong>and<strong> Led Zeppelin</strong> among others. Touring it over the course of the year across the U.S., Benevento and his trio made a number of high profile performances, including <strong>San Francisco Jazz Festival, Earshot Festival </strong>and<strong> Carnegie Hall</strong>.</p><p>At the end of 2009, Benevento released his first ever DVD, <a href="http://of-89.com/c/113/b04f27f10b17ba21fcd38414750ac693a3a17e0bb4b20cb6"><strong><em>Live In NYC: The Sullivan Hall Residency</em></strong></a>, a two hour-plus documentary with performances and interviews from his historical five week 2008 engagement at the downtown New York City venue Sullivan Hall, featuring special guests like <strong>Brad Barr, Kaki King, Billy Martin, Joe Russo </strong>and<strong> Stanton Moore</strong>.</p><p>Currently, Benevento is in the middle of work on his next full length studio album, which is tentatively scheduled for release in May 2010. If all this wasn't enough, he also serves as a member of post jazz experimentalists <strong>Garage A Trois</strong> and indie roots pop band <strong>Surprise Me Mr. Davis</strong>.</p></blockquote><p>Benevento's trio was also a performer at last month's hugely successful <a href="http://www.winterjazzfest.com/">NYC Winter Jazzfest</a> and LiveMusicBlog.com took some videos.
