Richmond Spiders freshman rewarded with additional rookie basketball honors

Last month, Kendall Anthony was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and selected to play in the league’s All-Rookie squad. Earlier today, University of Richmond announced that their star rookie was given additional state rookie honors.

Two Richmond Spiders receive top basketball honors

Freshman Kendall Anthony and senior Darrius Garrett received top honors from the Atlantic 10’s head coaches. Anthony was named Rookie of the Year and Garrett was selected to the division’s All-Defensive Team.

Spiders Rip UNC Greensboro

For the second game in a row, the University of Richmond men’s basketball team used key play from its bench to ignite a second half thrust to victory. Friday evening at the Robins Center, the opponent standing in the crosshairs was the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Spartans, losing to the Spiders 78-58.

Big second half pushes Spiders past Liberty

The University of Richmond Spiders overcame a slow start to knock off the Liberty Flames Wednesday night, 77-61. They improved to 8-6 on the season.

Richmond Spiders’ second half woes continue against Iona

The Spiders fell 88-79 to the Iona Gaels on Tuesday. For the second straight outing, the University of Richmond Spiders’ inability to stop their opponent’s second half scoring runs has resulted in consecutive non-conferences loses for the first time since the 2009-10 season.

The Blue: Richmond Spiders lose big to city rival VCU Rams

The University of Richmond Spiders men’s basketball team could not capitalize on a 16-8 run early in the second half and eventually let the game get away from them, losing 73-51 in a matchup of two Sweet Sixteen teams from last year’s NCAA tournament.
