Just over a month after the first round of the Bank of America Capital City Classic, which saw the VCU Rams outlast offensive explosions from Cedrick Lindsay and Kendall Anthony, Thursday night’s rematch at the Robins Center lived up to the billing that this rivalry has garnered over the past several seasons.
A career night from Terry Allen propelled the Spiders to a home win against the La Salle Explorers in front of a sold-out Robins Center Saturday afternoon, 62-49.
ShawnDre’ Jones had the hot hand and poured in 25 points for the Spiders, but poor rebounding and late defensive lapses doomed Richmond against George Washington, 73-65, dropping the Spiders to 17-9, 7-4 in the A-10.
Kendall Anthony and ShawnDre’ Jones combine for 38 points in the win against Fordham Saturday night, improving the Spiders’ overall record to 17-8 and tying for third in the Atlantic 10 (7-3).
Led by Kendall Anthony’s 20 points, the Richmond Spiders use a 17-3 run to start the game and rout Duquesne, 75-58, in Pittsburgh Wednesday night.
After a week of devastating news, the Richmond Spiders rallied behind Kendall Anthony’s 28 points to beat St. Bonaventure, 64-62, and improve to 15-8 (5-3) on the season.
