Watch dragons race on Saturday
This event is free and open to all, not just dragons.
Walgreens Richmond International Dragon Boat Festival kicks off Saturday at Rocketts Landing with the first boats going off at 9:00 AM Saturday, August 2nd.
The main event of course is the dragon boats, crewed by 20, driven on by a pounding beat. If you take your attention away from the James or in between heats you’ll find the authentic Chinese performances, featuring traditional dances, costumes, food options and other vendors. Since the event is sponsored by Walgreens you’ll also find the Walgreens Health & Wellness Village that will offer various ways to determine you’ll level of good health.
