Richmond Marathon on pace for record registrations

America’s “friendliest marathon” is on pace to set a record as prices increase October 1st.

Three of Richmond’s most popular races–The Anthem Richmond Marathon, American Family Half Marathon, and the HCA Virginia 8k–are on pace to draw nearly 20,000 participants for the November 16th event. Last year’s races drew 18,702, setting an attendance record that this year’s event will likely break.

The American Family Half Marathon is expected to reach its 9,000-person limit well before race day. When that happens, no additional registrations will be accepted for that race.

Beginning tomorrow, registration costs will increase $20 for the marathon, $10 for the half marathon, and $5 for the 8k.

Runner’s World has named the Richmond Marathon “America’s friendliest marathon.”
