Kickers lose to Charlotte, ending playoff run

The Kickers dominated this year. But you’re only as good as your last win while competing in the USL PRO playoffs.

Update #1 — September 3, 2013; 9:27 AM

The Richmond Kickers lost just twice this season. But their most recent loss this past Saturday ended their season outright along with their playoff hopes, before a home crowd at City Stadium.

The Charlotte Eagles knocked out the Kickers from the USL PRO semifinals by a score of 2-1 despite the Kickers scoring first in the 12th minute of the match. The Eagles followed with two goals before halftime, which was all the club needed to upset Richmond.

The Charlotte Eagles will now take on Orlando City for the championship at the Florida Citrus Bowl on Saturday, September 7th.
