Rams lose Joey Rodriguez

It is being reported by the Richmond Times-Dispatch that rising junior VCU Guard, Joey Rodriguez will be transferring from VCU.

The money quote, from Joey’s father:
“The biggest issue is the fact that Coach [Grant] is not there anymore,” Joe Rodriguez said. “He wants to try to finish up somewhere in Florida that will be closer to home. That’s always been an issue with Joey.”

:-( I was hoping Joey would be our PG for the next couple years. Gonna be a new team I guess. I hope he lands someplace good down in FL and gets to play. Thanks for your hard work Joey!
No Grant. No Maynor. And now, no Rodriguez. Can you say “rebuilding year”?? And by “year” I mean “4 to 10 years”.
What a loss! This new coach is really going to have his work cut out for him.
