• The #2 University of Virginia Cavaliers upset #1 Akron to win the men’s soccer national championship. UVa beat Akron 3-2 on penalty kicks. This is UVa sixth national championship and first since 1994.
•  VUU  picked up a rare road win last night and crushed Shippenburg University 74-58. VUU is 5-5 in 2008 and off until next year!
• The  Flying Squirrels  are having a “name the mascot contest” over at the RTD. Winner gets a personal appearance of the mascot at their home (!) and a 20 person picnic at a game.
•  Jordan Evans , who played on the UVa national championship team this weekend, is a former Richmond Kicker’s Youth.
