Atlantic 10 inks new television contract with ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBC Sports Group

Today the Atlantic 10 Conference secured an eight-year media rights agreement with ESPN, CBS Sports Network, and NBC Sports Group that more than doubles the conference’s national exposure.

Today the Atlantic 10 Conference secured an eight-year media rights agreement with ESPN, CBS Sports Network, and NBC Sports Group that more than doubles the conference’s national exposure. Starting during the 2013-14 season, the agreement promises 192 exposures including 146 by men’s basketball. This is another promising step for the A-10 as it positions itself to be the premier basketball-driven conference in the country.

The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals of the men’s A-10 basketball tournament in Brooklyn at the Barclays Arena will be covered, which is good news for Ram fans come March as VCU will no longer play its conference tournament in the Richmond Coliseum.

The agreement leaves the A10 in a favorable position to focus on a potential A-10 digital network. The rights to all games not selected by the national partners will be retained by the A-10.

“Our commitment to basketball at the highest level has allowed us to leverage our national exposure in the best way possible for the Atlantic 10,” stated Bernadette V. McGlade, A-10 Commissioner. “Partnering with ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBC Sports Network for the next eight years is truly a historic moment for the A-10 and its member institutions.”
