Urbanite Market coming to Hardywood on Sunday

Getting ready for the week ahead is now disguised as relaxing with a beer!

The Urbanite Market is a chance for you to get the fixings for dinner with local food, a growler of beer and even a cooking demonstration on what to do with will all that food. The best is that you can do this at Hardywood and maybe even get a game of bocce in.

Whole Foods Market seasonal veggie boxes – Beet Boxes – available for pre-order; a weekly workshop from the experts at Whole Foods Market and Hardywood; and a rotating line-up of market vendors, hand-picked to bring the very best selection each week.

Whole Foods Market Marketing Team Leader Linda Thomas said, “Whole Foods Market is excited to partner with Hardywood to offer fresh, local foods in a relaxing environment. The Beet Box is a new product we will be selling exclusively at the Urbanite Market. The box will be packed full of fresh produce and will include healthy recipes for the week. The idea is to make healthy eating convenient and affordable. Our in-store Healthy Eating Specialist, Jim, will conduct cooking demonstrations at the Urbanite Market, so you can sample the week’s featured Beet Box recipes.”

Beet Boxes are $25 each – with enough fresh produce for 3 meals for 3-4 people. Whole Foods Market will be on-site demonstrating recipes from each week’s box. This week, they will demo an Heirloom Tomato Salad and 2 other recipes. After the first week, Beet Boxes will be available for pre-order and quick pick-up.

Hardywood Hospitality Manager Kerry Anderson added, “We’re excited to celebrate the season by showcasing the Whole Foods Market partners in our local community, and by providing a new experience and resource each weekend for visitors. Getting ready for the week ahead is now disguised as relaxing with a beer! The dessert course to the Urbanite Market will be a Summer music series of both Richmond and East coast acts, starting at 3pm each week.”

Each week will feature a different theme and community partner, such as Richmond 2015 and Vegan Action. Workshops and cooking demonstrations will take place continuously from 12-3:00. No pre-registration is necessary, and admission is free! And, as if that’s not enough, Sub Rosa Bakery will be on-hand each week with an assortment of pastries and fresh bread to enjoy at the brewery or at home!

This is an admission-free, family-friendly event. All ages are welcome at the brewery. Virginia ABC law prohibits bringing outside alcoholic beverages on-site, and underage drinking will be strictly prohibited.
