The Locks takes home GRACRE Award

Six acres of residential and commercial space along the canals.

Greater Richmond Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE) held their annual award ceremony to celebrate innovation and excellence in, you guessed it, commercial real estate. The awards ended up being spread throughout the city and The Locks brought one home for Shockoe. Full list of winners at the previous link.

Best Adaptive Re-Use – The Locks

Encompassing six acres of Richmond’s downtown waterfront, The Locks is an exclusive enclave of residential and commercial spaces along the historic Haxall and Kanawha Canals.

The 174 units in The Locks has succeeded in creating a real urban community, that adds to the already existing 300+ residential units of the 2 proximate canal front condos, Riverside on the James and The Vistas. This high density residential use is one of the primary principles of Smart Sustainable Growth.
