Between Friday, August 3rd through Sunday, August 5th school items $20 and less, as well as clothing and footwear $100 and less, will be exempt from the 5% sales tax.</p><p>“Of the Commonwealth’s three sales tax holidays, this is the most popular because it helps parents around the state save money while purchasing essential school supplies, clothing, and shoes to help their children have a successful year at school," said Governor Bob McDonnell.
