Secretly Y’all so close to bringing a Storybike and festival to town

Everyone has a story tell.

Secretly Y’all is so close to reaching their goal of $6,000 to build a Storybike (a mobile story collecting booth) and to launch an amazing day long festival of stories, beer, bikes and community.

They’ve started a Kickstarter appropriately named Bicycle Y’all and as of this morning were only about $750 away from reaching their goal but only two days remain. There are some super unique rewards for backing the project including art by Chris Milk and an awesome crocheted beard for those that want that hip RVA look but are folliclely challenged.

BICYCLE Y’ALL! …what is it?

Phase 1 –> THE STORYBIKE. A mobile storyrecording booth we are building from scratch. It can be out and about continuously collecting the stories that make up our lives and funneling them into our existing podcast (check it out on iTunes).

Phase 2–> THE FESTIVAL. A day long festival centered around live storytelling, music, beer, bikes, and community. To be held in June 2015. Will raise money for phase 3 & 4 (more info below).

Why stories? For over 4 years Secretly Y’all has been holding storytelling events in RVa and we have realized that the simple telling and listening to each others stories about what makes us unique also helps us understand what we all have in common.

Secretly Y’all is a Richmond-based organization that encourages people to share stories in front of a live audience based on a theme. Over the past four years they’e raised over $10,000 all of which has been donated directly back into our community’s non-profits and charities.
