Providence Park murder victim identified

Around midnight on July 25, RPD officers were called to the 400 block of E. Ladies Mile Road for a report of a man down.

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of a homicide that occurred yesterday in the north side neighborhood of Providence Park.

Around midnight on July 25, RPD officers were called to the 400 block of E. Ladies Mile Road for a report of a man down. They arrived and found the body of Bashawn Boyd, 22, of the 1500 block of Presidential Drive in Henrico County, next to an apartment building. He had been shot several times.

Detectives continue to pursue all leads in the case, and ask anyone with information on this incident to call Major Crimes Detective Joe Fultz at (804) 646-3929 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
